We have decided to do a podcast every so often to inform players about what's going on directly from the developers mouth. In these podcast's we will also be answering questions players post on our forums and other places. Be sure to visit our website regularly to hear what we are doing and also find out if your questions you have posted is answered. In our first podcast Andre talks to Jacques , the Project Lead where he introduces Islands Of War to you the players and answers a few questions about the game like why did we decide to use the specific graphic style and also how players will be paying to play the game. With all the feedback from our Beta testers we have re-vamped the whole game with better graphics, a new race to play and smoother game play. We have also upgraded most of the systems and added a few new ones:
  • Our Loot system now allows players to choose what they want to loot from mobs.
  • The interface has been upgraded allowing players to view their characters stat's, switch between different bags and also players can now see the abilities list that will follow.
  • Drag and drop functionality has been added to bags and action bar.
  • All items will display stat's that are associated to them now when you mouse over them.
  • Sound effects and particle effects has been added to increase the quality of combat.
  • A whole new area called Boldar has been added where players can play as a Orc and adventure in the different areas.
  • Merchants has been added where players can sell items they collect on their adventures as well as buy new armor and weapons.
  • We have expanded the current human area with a new instance in the Scull Dredge desert called Snaren. This instance will be a 5 Man instance.

Players will be able to experience all this once Beta 2 gets released which will be end August 2010.

Our website has undergone a major face lift as you can see, seeing that we are gearing up for a full release very soon. We needed to ad new features so it would be easier for players to get to know what Islands Of War is all about. With a more fluent navigational system you can now find information much faster. We have also added a few new systems like our archive system which will only be available when Beta 2 gets released, where you can search and view any piece of armor, quest or item that's in the game with a 3d View of it. Along with the systems we have also made sure you can follow us on other forms of media like Facebook, Youtube and Twitter to keep you up to date. We hope this upgrade will inform you the player better on what's happening in IOW.
